Overall Mobile Phone Market in China December domestic mobile phone shipments reached 63.2 million units, up 11.8 percent year over year. 126 new models were released in the month, up 5.0 percent year over year. YTD domestic mobile phone shipments reached 559.7 million units and YTD number of new model release reached 1446, up 8.0 percent and down 3.3 percent year over year, respectively. YTD domestic 4G mobile phone shipments were 519.4 million units, up 18.0 percent year over year, and represented 92.8 percent of the total shipments. Local and MNC Brands of Mobile Phones December mobile phone shipments by the local brands reached 56.0 million units, up 16.7 percent year over year, accounting for 88.7 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands (121 units) increased by 3.4 percent year over year, and represented 96.0 percent of the total number of new model release in the month. YTD mobile phone shipments by the local brands reached 497.8 million units, up 16.1 percent year over year, and accounted for 88.9 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands (1381 units) decreased by 2.5 percent year over year, and represented 95.5 percent of the total number of new model release in the domestic market. Development of Smart Phones December smart phone shipments were 60.4 million units, up 18.8 percent year over year, and accounted for 95.7 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments in the month. Of the total smart phone shipments, 47.0 million units were Android-based. YTD smart phone shipments were 521.6 million units, up 14.0 percent year over year, and represented 93.2 percent of the YTD domestic mobile phone shipments. Of the total smart phone shipments, 425.4 million units were Android-based.
